Black Eyed Susan Wedding Cake

Although this was my first attempt at Black Eyed Susans and needed more practice, this enormous wedding cake turned out quite beautiful.

It was also my first attempt at making ruffles and there were several mistakes, but in all...

It turned out beautifully even with the mistakes.

When I added the flowers after the ruffles were done, it gave me a chance to cover some mistakes. 

The flowers were made from meringue powder so they were hard like candy.

The cake top was just random placements to fill the entire topper. 

Again, it was a practice cake for various techniques, but it goes to show you that when you are creating designs, it is very possible to mask your mistakes and still have a beautiful outcome!
